Okay, I need to know if I can swap this : 

 

with this : 

 

The bottom one only has the 3 poles for ignition, lights and mains, whereas the top one has the 3 poles PLUS 6 small tangs around the outside that need to be jumped from other parts of the switch.

Does the top switch have all the jumpers already connected?

Any help greatly appreciated.

What you have is one 1936 to 1995 ignition switch (the top one ).

And one for 93-2005 Wide Glide, 96-2006 Softail and 94-2006 Road King. (the bottom one).

They are not readily interchangeable from new to old style.  Although you could use the new switch

on an old bike with a bit of easy re-wiring . The other way would be too much of a pain. Why?. Not worth the effort.

If you only want to change it so that you can use the round key you can buy one through J&P Cycles that has the old style base with the newer round key. I have bought one for the Shovel, Just haven't got around to fitting it yet.
