Ahh yes I see the light now, that explains a lot and makes things a lot clearer now.So all I need to clear up now is whether or not I need o2 sensor eliminators if I buy a PC111.Then I will be on my way,I guess. And thank you for the information Mick

If you buy a pc3 the 02 sensor eliminators are included. If you buy one of the other units they are not included, but we can supply them for you.

The PC3 is a pretty good option all round and we have had excellent performance gains with them. Pretty simple for most users with a little computer nouse.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

All I need to do now is find out who has the best prices on a PC111.And Thanks again for that info Mick,as I was looking at some of the maps available and they were saying with o2 eliminators fitted, and I didn't see anywhere on the web site where it says that the eliminators were for sale for anything but some jap bikes,so your explanation clears it up completely.

    cheers

Hi Nobody and anyone else in the market,

We also supply power commanders (Australian distributor imported so warranty is intact). If you are interested, feel free to drop me an email with your model and mods done. We generally preload a map that should get you pretty close off the mark.

    Cheers

Well I got my exhaust valve and inlet eliminator plugs from Big Joe's Today. Fitted up the exhaust valve eliminator in about 3-5 minutes, simple as described.

What difference did it make you ask?

Well my bike sounds as it should, regardless of throttle position, so I'm Bloody stoked. If you have slip ons I would say it is a must have item.

Big Joe Choppers were excellent to deal with and would gladly recommend them and use their services again!!!! Thanks Fellas.

Sounds like a really good mod, I'm assuming this is only available for big twins?

Its more about overcoming some limitiations built into the original equipment. Im pretty sure the sportys don't have the exhaust butterfly ( at least the 07s didnt last I look).

    Hi Johno,

not sure why he would suggest it was causing a surge. Surging sounds more like a fuel prob. Do you still have the problem or has it gone away since then?

    cheers

I think you will find the surge is related to the fact that it is running too lean at light throttle,my Roakdking does the same thing, will fix it on Tuesday hopefully, when I richen it up a bit.

I sent the following text to Dynojet (makers of PCIII)

When purchasing last month there was no reference to P/N ending in EX on the web site. Is this something new for the 07 Dyna? I have noted that the Power Commander P/N 814-511 states ''for racing vehicle only''. On scanning your web I not that there is now listed an "EX" version. Is there any difference and can I use the unit I have (i.e non EX) on the road. I have an international standard 07 Dyna Street Bob with electronic servo-controlled butterfly valve. I am replacing the standard exhaust with a Vance and Hines Short Shot Staggard P/N17217. It looks like the non-EX units have a full map capability whereas the EX has a limited map capability. Thanking you in advance.

    Their reply was:

You are correct in your analysis.  The EX power commander was recently introduced  for those areas that have more stringent  emissions controls, i.e. (Calif).  In order to be certified as street legal in those areas the power commander  cannot make fuel changes in certain areas of the fuel curve.  The regular power commander now designated as "race ready and for off road use allows for complete control of the fuel curve.  It is up to the individual consumer to choose which one he feels is appropriate for how he wants to use his bike.

Thanks for your inquiry.  The EX Power Commander was recently introduced to accommodate those riders in areas of the US that have more stringent emission standards and regulations about aftermarket products being installed on street legal bikes.  It has been certified by the Calif Air Resources Board as street legal in California. In order to obtain that certification there are certain areas of the map that can not be manipulated or changed, the amount of timing adjustment is also limited, there is no button adjustment feature, or cylinder trim capability either. The EX power commander retains the stock O2 sensors and closed loop system, where as the regular Power Commander utilizes our O2 sensor eliminators, thus allowing full control of the fuel curve. With the introduction of the EX Power Commander, the regular Power Commander III USB was given the designation of "race and off road use" to distinguish between the two.  That power commander is the same unit we have marketed since 2003 and allows full adjustment and manipulation of the fuel curve and all the other timing and adjustment features available with the power commander. We make both units available and leave the choice of which unit to purchase up to the individual consumer, based on their anticipated use and or local regulations.   Your plans to change the exhaust on your International standard bike would necessitate the use of Active Exhaust Bypass p/n 76423018 to prevent any error codes being displayed by the removal of the butterfly valve.

I am running the standard PCIII and am happy so far. Still need to have the bike on a dyno. Hope all this helps.

Iv'e had a PC 3 fitted and full set of  V & Hines pipes but does this mean that that valve thing is still active or has that all been bypassed now and how will i tell ,is there somewhere you can see this thing easily. Also if its not removed but blocked open do you still get the HP gains or not .

    Cheers Wayne

After the valve I changed the mufflers to S&S slip-ons.  It is difficult to tell what has made the difference it does feel a little more responsive but not sure if that is just the extra noice from the mufflers.

Is there any reason you cant just cut the valve section off the pipe and simply put the muffler back on, if your willing to cut the heat sheild also?
