Fwd controls feedback for '08 Sporty

    Hi to the forum!

I am a new member to the HD forum but not new to 2 wheel cruising (40+years). The hair and beard aren't red anymore but the fire is still stoked!!

I have purchased a '08 Sporty (My first HD and another tick on my Bucket List) and is fitted with SE mufflers, Air Filter, Tacho & ThunderMax+Auto Tune.

As an old fart I find the mid peg setup a little too harsh on my knees and want to stretch out a little!

Can anybody help with experience in Fwd Controls - like, for example, are extension required to stop my right boot from being cooked and my right knee being caressed by the AC cover; recommended resellers (not overly fond of the international thieves on Feebay, plus I don't know the quality) - I would rather spend my money on Oz resellers if I can't be guaranteed of the O/S product quality!

I read a thread in this forum from a business (I guess) called VPW (2010) regarding the 'Attitude' brand 'Fwd control kits+pegs+matching grips package' but can't seem to find it again - does anybody know if the deal is still valid? I think it was around $550 the package.

All help is much appreciated and I'll just crack another bottle of JD and wait your responses.

    Regards

    RedNed

I recently changed from mid controls to forward controls recently and its really comfortable.  Walker stocks some great looking controls, I would have bought them myself but had purchased the HD ones from eBay literally a few days prior.

Congrats on the purchase mate and welcome to the forum

Thanks for the info Steamer! Looks like I have a few options here. I'm 172cm so about your size, so sounds good. I will try WALKA first and Luke then O/S.

Hi Piglet! Thanks for the info. Probably wouldn't go for dual pegs - will take too much time for the ol' brain to send info to the feet to change from the h/way pegs to the control pegs for a gear change or brake....

Hi & Thanks. I just had a look at the VPW website (after seeing it advertised in a chopper mag) - mmmm some nice goodies (bling) there. I like shiny things!!!
