EGR Analysis

I have started doing some tuning on my bike  with the new MT8's  I collected 3 V Tunes today but didn't touch the EGR tables as yet.  Here are the 3 runs,  after the first run I though holy shit what is going on here but you can see after the 3rd run a marked difference in the effects

    Run 1

    Run2

    Run 3

Now I intend to do some more runs again next weekend weather permitting.  But I am thinkiing that I will not have to make any adjustments if it keeps going the way it is atm.  A hell of a difference between the 1st and 3rd run.   Still going to look at the VE's and do a bit of tweeking and see what affects that has on the EGR plot.  I am still trying to get my head around this as well, so it is going to be a long slow process.

On the runs as well you can see that I haven't got upto all that high revs,  not from want of trying either, something is not wuite right with something on the bike.  It feels like it is hitting the rev limiter at 5,000 but I have mine set to 5950...  Any ideas?  Not throwing codes either.  At first I thught possibly O2 Sensors but no problems it seems with them as I was getting 8-9 thousand hits on a 30 min run..  So I am at a bit of a loss as to the reason for that issues.  CPS maybe needing a clean?  Buggered if I know...

Now when you generate your vtune under the settings tab you can select "Highlight low map" and it will put all the data below 60 kpa into bold print. Haven't figured out how to attach a pic.

Yep I read the same thing on HTT. And I found the highlight function as well. I am not going to play until I got it right in my head. I sort of understand but still a bit unsure of the process as, adjusting one cell will affect other. The way I read it when you look at the cell that needs adjusting you use the % in the VE table to find out what the difference is and then double it, but I think this affects others at the same time. That is the part I am a bit concerned with. I am sure not adjusting the EGR's will not affect the bike as I will be doing a few more Vtunes, Hopefully when it comes time to do the EGR's I will have a better understanding. Some of the thread on HTT are choca's full of info, but also sometimes to in depth.

I will post my before and after attempts on the EGR adjustments to see what you think. I will have a go this afternoon and tonight. Then do another V Tune run and see how it looks. Not a fast process this is it. And I haven't even got to the spark data runs yet..

Mate on another note, you fitted the Se Comp to your bike? Did it make a difference when starting? When I start when cold no problems, minimal clunk, but when the bike is hot I get the occasional double clunk when starting. Happened this morning at the shops and sounds crap. Will fitting the Se Comp take this away? or is there something else going on in there as well. I will finalize my tune over the coming weeks weather permitting. And I know what you mean about fitting a screen making it easier to see what is going on. I have an eye on a few we have at work that are 12v DC, but have a RCA plug for video, being that I work with a lot of Electronic techs I will see if they can alter one of them for tuning. 7" TFT monitors. I will have to make an adapter to take the S Video adapter from the monitor to the D type plug output on the laptop.
