Guys
See the below link to Michelin's web site about the upcoming release of their new Comnader II tyre. 40,000 klms on a rear tyre. A big call. I'll be watching for reviews and comments on forums in the States to see how they shape up.

Mate!.............I'd love to believe this is true..............but as they say...........if it sounds too good to be true.......it generally is!
Interested to see what tyre sizes they make ................no doubt, probably fuck all in 16"...like everyone else!!!!
Still......... if they do make one to fit the Fatbob, I'd be keen to try it out. Can't imagine the grip would be anywhere near the Metz, but I only get around 7K outa the Metz.
Might be worth the extra mileage if the grip is not too bad..........like I said, be keen to try one out!
Burto.
in my opinion Michelin don't have a great range for cruisers.... so I'm not expecting any great change to the range. Certainly don't currently have 160/17 17"

Keep us informed Horrible...........won't be needing a new rear for a fair while so hope to get some feedback before then.
would be interesting to hear what mileage they really get.
I would be a bit concerned about a tyre hard enough to get 40k on a heavy touring bike and in any event there are plenty of five year old bikes that haven't done 40k km yet.
This would mean the tyre is shot whether it is worn out or not.
I have gotten ~20k km out of the dunlops and certainly wouldn't want anything twice as hard.

What is the decision on the Mitchelin Commander II tyres? Are they as good as Mitchelin says they are in the wet and do they last for 40k??
