Only just found this, though they've probably been around for a while. S&S easystart cams. Has anybody fitted them or know of any negative feedback about them.

 I have fitted a set of 551 easy start cams to my 95cube fat boy. It should have been finished but additional items such as adjustable pushrods,

undersize cam gear and ecu tuner went missing thanks to the US postal service so as soon as i resolve my missing order I will let you know.

I'm interested to hear how they go as well. I've got a pair of 551 easy start bagger cams in the box waiting for the Rev Performance tuner to arrive and the warranty to run out on the bike early Sept.

Rabbit I've scoured the net for info and can't find any mechanical negatives. I've had a look at a some torque curves and a have seen a small dip in a few of them at around 2500 - 2700 revs before heading upwards.
Having said that I suppose if one wants to do a compression test it wouldn't be possible. Small downside to me.

 They seem like a good thing from what I've seen on the S&S vids,considering using these with an S&S big bore 106 kit and heads

fired up the fatboy yesterday and took it for a quick run and the torque in 5th gear is very noticeable.
Engine start is less stressful than the standard cams considering the battery is a little tired.
Slight gear noise and exhaust note has changed
Very pleased with the results so far and will only improve when the ecu is tuned.

Thanks for the feedback Scrumpy, I have my 551 EZ starts installed in the 2009 BargeGlide with the exception of aligning the cam and crank sprockets and doing the adjustable pushrods. I also installed a Revolution Performance EMS 'self tune' tuner and am waiting for the return of the ECM from RevPerf-- probaby a week over and a week back so I'm in no hurry.

While waiting for it to come back I'll be gutting the cat.

TTS arrived yesterday loaded map closest to mods took it for a quick ride. Went up a long steep hill in 5th gear (usually change down to 4th) motor just did it sooooo easy. Will have a play with the ECM tune in the next week or so and see what happens but I am sure there is still more to be gained.
