to those who use geelong harley, for the time being they dont have a full time tech in the workshop. the owner who isnt a qualified mechanic is working in the workshop and 1 trained mechanic on a couple of days a week.

Well when i was working for yorke motors the fourth year appentice that i was training got the formans job in the city and he was the worst mechanic i have ever seen.

He did the platium plugs on a v6 magna, started it up and all you could hear is this tinging sound, i told him to turn it off, I checked it  out and asked him where are the washers that went under the nuts on the ends of the manifold? He said he didn't know...... lol  that car came in for a service and ended up staying there for a week.

When he was doing a used car inspection he use to just play with his mobile phone,

Huck is working part time at Geelong. He is switched on, you wont go wrong letting him swing a spanner on your ride. Builds real strong motors as well. When he is not at Geelong he is working in his own workshop.

Got 6,000k's up on my new Softail. Was thinking of going to Geelong, but found out Richard their tech guy no longer works there. Does anyone know who their factory trained tech's are now? Where else locally in Geelong can you go to get your HD serviced and warrantied?

    Hi there

The exact current news for the Geelong Harley workshop is:

Ted Hallam (son of Paul Hallam of Hallam Boyz fame) is now working there full time after finishing his apprenticeship with Peter Stevens in Geelong. Paul, his Dad and a close personal friend and someone I've been dealing with as a qualified motor mechanic since 1985 and his days at Hallam Engineering in Gordon Ave, is working there on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Quite frankly apart what I am able to do on my own bikes the only other person I've let work on them is Paul. And to be clear that's not to say there are not other well qualified conscientious Harley technicians anywhere else, it's just my own experience. I also beleive that GHD are getting a factory trained guru from the US to work there as well, but I cannot confirm this yet.

    Cheers

Conmore, so your saying Paul is working part time at Geelong HD ?
That's good news for them, and with Ted having a great Mentor, he should be an asset as well.

I hope Paul is still working from Home ?
I will need him to do another Cylinder bore job for me soon.

    Cheers
