    well the time had finally come just got my metzels 880 ,s on today

    only rode home from the tyre place f!@k what a difference straight up

    still need to scuff them in will keep you posted after some twisty work

    sorry forgot to say yes a 200 metzeler will fit under a standard rear end of a fat bob

    you will loose some handling though

    i stuck with the 180 wide

    maybe next time

    Yeah....you will love the sticky nature of the Metzlers! Its critical that you keep their pressure right - if the pressure gets too low they will wear out in no time at all.

    I run 40psi on the front with 42-44 on the rear for my Metzlers.

    out of the shop 46 psi rear 40 front

    300km on them so far and a wet ride home today lookin good

    will keep the posts commin with more kms

    Yep.... a new set of Metzlers front and rear on the old FXR and loving them!....I now run out of clearance before grip (I have a high setup) and thats the way it should be!

    i gotta ask and it may be a silly question but Whats the best way to run (scrub) in new tires?

    I get sidecutters and remove every single rubber bit that sticks out from the new tyre - it takes about 30mins. Then a good easy run in the country/windy roads and I'm good to go!

    LOL...yeah its anal of me, but I have nearly lost the back end totally on those damn little bits that stick out on a new tyre.

    That slide was caused by the releasing agent on the tyre , and too much throttle too soon after fitment . I speak from experience    !!

    You could be right there...By the time i got around to cutting off the "vent pips" (yes that's the technical term for them) I had done about 30-40km so i had probably scrubbed the tyres up at the same time.

    Mind you my confidence once i had cut the little blighters off was way higher so it could all be in my head...lol
