Cleaning ya hog

Hey Dudes was wondering what every one uses to wash their bikes . I have tried S-100 but find it a little pricey. Only reason for asking is that I want to use the right stuff due to some knob recommending a brand to me that I used on my previous ride which proved to be caustic and ate away at the paintwork. Cheers Pete

I like the rusty, dirty look on my bike. Problem is I wash it and it still looks rusty and dirty so the only time it cops a washing is usually after been riding in the rain. Turtle products is all I have ever used.

Since I have a bagger with the fairing and solid bags, I use Meguiars Pure Wax - Marine application (fiberglass).

Well, im a bit late to the Mr Sheen party! Ive never heard of it used on bikes.
Just had a quick search on it, and on a site reviewing the brand it says "The Hell’s Angles motorcycle group once wrote a letter praising Mr Sheen for the way he cleaned their bikes. "

Edit: Back to the point, usually just a quick wash then chamois all over.

Every now and then i'll hit the shiny stuff with "Purple" polish.

Occasionally (rarely) give the paint a light cut and polish, finishing polish, then wax.

Ive just started using "Blue job" on a few tough bits (rubber on pipes and stuff like that), and it seems great. Pricey, but impressive.

Soap and water!.................seriously, it ain't that complicated.

Funny thing.......for years I used to wash my bikes and cars with dishwashing liquid. Was always told it was not good! Must use proper carwash!

Now I have a black denim bike...........the MoCo recommends using dishwashing liquid!!!!!!!! but I just got used to using truck wash (get it for free) so truck wash it is!

It ain't rocket science!............... no matter what the "experts" will try and tell ya!

    Burto.

Usually let the rain do all the work. It does get a wash when it goes for a service but fucked if I know what they use!!

CT-18 and rinse a lot then rinse again and again. Will move to CT-20 soon which has softer detergents and includes wax.
Blow dry with Husqvarna leaf blower.
Mcguires polish then wax and same once a year with clay cleaner.
Mr Sheen on windscreen, plastic and paint in between.
Once in a while glass cleane for the chrome.

I only do the full monty once every year or so-- the rest as needed from time to time.
