MoFlow Air Kit - and Question

So today I received the MoFlow air kit that I bought of another member.  I swapped out my Kury Corsair and installed the MoFlow.

I think I like the look better than the Corsair, and it certainly does not get in the way of my leg now.

I took off the Crank Case Breathers and continue to use my Corsair's separate breather that sits up under the tank because the bracket that came with it was obviously not for my bike - as it would not fit.

The question I have is...   Should I get the proper bracket and vent the crank case back through the air kit as intended, or am I better of using a separate breather?

I am hoping it breaths as good as the Corsair so I don't have to screw with the TTS.  :)

    Some before and afters....

    The Corsair....

    The MoFlow...

Don't vent your crankcase back thru the breather again!........................why feed that oil back thru your combustion chamber to carbonise and foul everything up.
The MoCo only did it to meet pollution regulations.

Thanks lads. The old Husky is just about fucked now!! Gee it's had a hard life. The donk is good though. Its a Briggs. Might look to build a Go-Kart for the kiddie.

Thanks Burto - I was thinking that exact same thing!

    Cheers

So I took the Mongrel out for a spin to see how the new MoFlow goes. Not too bad. I reckon there is slight drop in performance, but not enough to worry me. I have noticed now that there is less popping on decel - not that I had much at all, but I use to get the occasional pop, but now it just rumbles down. So I may have been a bit lean and now is probably right on the money.

I will do some tuning runs one of these days when I get off my lazy backside - but for now - happy!

Ok lads,  I thought I would show you what I did today to finalise the MoFlow.

I made some blanking plates to fit the holes from the MoFlow's breather and mounted back on the bike.

This pic shows the backing plate where you can see the 4 mounting holes for the breather adapters, and the hole in the middle of each is the hole that would run to the crank case.  This is the hole that would need to be blanked.

This pic shows the blanking plates that I made out of some light alloy.

Here is a pic of the blanking plates mounted with Nylock nuts and some Loctite.  What you can't see is the rubber membraine under the plates that will add that extra bit of sealing.

And here it is back on the bike.  You would never know they were there!  My external breather is still in place under the tank (you can see the banjos on the crank case)

    And finally mounted.
