So, I know this may not help you out as you're wanting to get rid of the plate from the back completely, but I just found this sweet little plate from Custom Dynamics in the US of A. It has an LED strip directly in the frame. So I'll be able to basically chop the whole plastic mounting frame and have the plate sitting flush with the back of the fender. Takes almost 2 inches off. Better than nothing! Only $55 landed too.
Here are the some pics of what we got done today, still need to wire up my tail lights, tuck everything away and mount the properly.
We ended up using the original guard, measured it off and cut it so the radius of he guard matched the tire......................so far so good and I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product!!
P.S - Fine cutting wheel on an angle grinder, grinding stone and a super fine sanding wheel. Come up really well. Still considering taking another cm off though!
Waz
Great effort Convert. Very trick. Cheers, TC
Does anyone know if the license plate in the pic would be legal? It seems to be mounted off one of the tail lights. If so, the mission is to find it!
OK, what about this one guys. Is the way this is mounted legal? It's kinda facing up at a 45 degree angle!
This bike is in NSW
OK guys first of all even if you managed to put the no plate on the side and it is within the specs the biggest problem is that is it a
Cop magnet
mounting it on the fender would be better and as for cutting the fender i would not cut it to short
here is some infomation stright from the NSW RTA well worth a read.
