it could have been worse, there was more he could have done me on. I only had the plate side mounted for 12 hours before getting done for it, what the chance hey.

Oh T1...ouch! a few hours only?

Quiet day in bright... bored? feel like showing some uninterested guy how you look on a bmw?

We actually had a traffic cop come to our high school on his bike and all, for some careers talk.

He arrived in the top teacher's car park, and got off the bike, and attempted to rock it back onto the centre stand, as a group of maybe 45 students looked on. The thing was so damn heavy that he struggled for like 3 minutes, sweating profusely in front of a bunch of snickering teenagers.
Needless to say, he gave the rest of the 'talk' from the saddle of his bmw. All the while, trying to awkwardly turn in the seat saying stuff like "Back here, in my.... in my...paneas, on....this...side...uuugh!...over here....just ..just behind me..... here...uuugh! as he struggled with the sheer weight of the bike. The talk just turned into a list of stuff that he assured us was actually 'in' his paneas.

We took his word for it. I don't think a single student that day ended up becoming a traffic cop, out of sheer embarrassment at the thought of one day having to go to a high school and give a talk, whilst mounted on a bike :)

Mounting the license plate has got me fucked, not sure where to put it! Was initially thinking side mount from left hand side axle with two little LED bolt lights to cover my ass in the dark but not convinced. Debating whether I can mount it from the rear gaurd somehow, but worried that might just look shit...............decisions, decisions, decisions!

I too sat their with a friend today for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out what da fook to do with the plate. Not many choices as to where it can be mounted without taking a risk.

So, I know this may not help you out as you're wanting to get rid of the plate from the back completely, but I just found this sweet little plate from Custom Dynamics in the US of A.  It has an LED strip directly in the frame.  So I'll be able to basically chop the whole plastic mounting frame and have the plate sitting flush with the back of the fender.  Takes almost 2 inches off.  Better than nothing!  Only $55 landed too.

I'm assuming the license plate size here is the same as the US?  Haha....hope this fits!!!

Here are the some pics of what we got done today, still need to wire up my tail lights, tuck everything away and mount the properly.

We ended up using the original guard, measured it off and cut it so the radius of he guard matched the tire......................so far so good and I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product!!

P.S - Fine cutting wheel on an angle grinder, grinding stone and a super fine sanding wheel. Come up really well.  Still considering taking another cm off though!

    Looking good man.

How do you feel now that you've jumped in with both feet? must feel awesome!

BTW, What did you do with your old cast wheels?

Does anyone know if the license plate in the pic would be legal?  It seems to be mounted off one of the tail lights.  If so, the mission is to find it!

Ah ok. So that's the same way it mounts normally? And even that is illegal over here? Man, way too anal laws. I really don't understand how that would be an issue. It's pretty visible to me!

I don't imagine that it'd violate the visible from 45 degree angle law, but T1 is the man who knows.

Looks good though. Nice to mix it up a little instead of the stock rear centre plate frame

If by cast wheels you mean the stockies? I'd be super keen to swap with ya if that's the case!!!

OK, what about this one guys.   Is the way this is mounted legal?  It's kinda facing up at a 45 degree angle!

    This bike is in NSW

I've seen this bike listed on eBay and a few other websites for a ridiculous amount, not too sure about the angle though.....................................

That's a gnarly looking bike - not sure about the plate...someone mentioned that the plate can act as part of the fender in the minimum required length/ arc.

I'm in the market for a rear cast wheel only. Yeah a stockie. a 13 spoke cast aluminium 16" with a 3 " rim. If anyone's got one in the garage, hit me up.
