ive had my son managed to knock my bike over and in this effort bent my bars, dint the tank, knock the indercator off etc

so i thought in this time of repair i would like to possibly get a bigger tank with the hope that my speedo can be relocated to the tank or the wiring be able to plug straight into the tank speedo and if so which tank will fit properly so i dont have to change the seat etc being an 06 custom sporty (so not the peanut tank)

im also wanting to raise the bars a little and bring them back a tad so the riding position is a little  better so i thought by changing the tank i could get rid of the speedo that sits on the bars then having a bigger choose of bars

any ideas, thoughts, help, would be great

    cheers

sounds like you're after a quick bob tank, but that's only gonna get you half a gallon over the custom tank. Lotta dicking around for 2 litres. Costly too, unless you can score some second hand stuff cheap. I've used a stock 883xl speedo bracket ( the one with the flat mount to the top riser ) , elongated the holes slightly so it fits on the riser cover bolts instead - only works on a custom with the headlight mounted off the bottom tree. Now i can use whatever riser / bar combo i feel like. Currently got keystones on 4 inch risers, looked great on 1.75's, but quite a stretch with forwards.

    good luck mate.
