Shark Full Face/Open Face Helmet EVOLINE 2 MAT -ST Black Metal Mat Do you need a Full Face/Open Face Helmet, I purchased this helmet today as I needed a new helmet for the warmer months which will be here soon. Design is great you can have the best of both worlds it may not be for everyone but it gives you a choice as the day changes from cold to warm, bright light to dark of the night, its a helmet that changes just as the day and the weather changes so your ready for any occassion. I have been wearing Shark Helmets for the last 5yrs and find them to be a quality product.
No need to wear those silly looking masks which really don't do anything.

Helmet in its fully closed setup
Helmet with the Clear Visor opened
Helmet with the chin guard in its half retracted position
Helmet with the chin guard in fully retracted position
Helmet with the the Dark Visor down
Rear of Helmet
Not to sure how much faith id be putting in that chin guard if you were to come off.
I remember a brand of helmet called "Laser" who made full face helmets years ago which got nicknamed "razor" due to the chin bar causing substantial damage to the wearers lower face in the event of an accident.
I have an older full face Shark and it was good.... but this helmet does not appear to fit as well.... like the helmet except for the weight.. will do a little more research as i need a new helmet
Really enjoying this new helmet, so easy to convert into open face even when riding, pull up at the lights you can put the helmet into open face and speak to the other rider beside you. Also out on the open road if it gets windy, cold, or there is way to much shit in the air you can change it to full face to avoid those nasty objects hitting you in the face.
What I like is that you have the best of both worlds, now if I get caught out with the dark visor on and it gets dark I can now just retract the dark visor and the clear visor is ready for use.
Also the wind noise is pretty good for this type of helmet, have had several Shark helmets over the years and this helmet wouldn't be any louder that my other Shark helmets.
Approx $400 for these lids? Like to bite the bullet and get something like this for my long rides. Keep us informed of your views on these Shark lids guys.
I ended up with the Shark Vision R which I purchased for a good price at Peter Steven...
pretty happy with the fit... it's not too noisy and I love the sun shield
also... here is another recommendation.. www.stayontheblack.com/the-shark-vision-r-many-features-one-helmet/
i'm in the market for a new helemt...will give this one a go, looks like the best of both worlds...
I tried the flip top Rocky, but didn't fit well.... the Vision R was a much better fit.
Use my open face around town and on local rural runs unless bitterly cold or raining and the full face on interstate runs
