    Hi all,

I jagged a cheap set of progressive 412 shocks for my iron, they only catch was they were the chrome ones.

They will probably look ok on anyways because my bike isn't all blacked out etc but does anyone know of a good cost effective way of painting or covering the chrome black??

Any help would be great !

    cheers

Are you referring to the caps and springs or just the caps?
You could talk to a plating company about having the shiny chrome removed and "black chrome" put on in its place.
You could take the cheap way out and rough up the chrome and get a rattle can.. not recommended for a professional look though LoL...

yeah they look really good, thanks for the pics and the offer.

I'm in the ACT, I think I might sus out how much the locals will sting me for powdercoating.....it will probably be ridiculously priced no doubt.

Good old Hammerite have a primer that is specifically for overpainting chrome surfaces but it is a brush on. They also do smooth finish cans of paint, they give a good finish, but I needed to put multiple coats on to get cover ( the chrome cover primer is red) and to stop the primer showing through

I ordered them from the POR paint finish people in Sydney,( of the tank sealer fame), and they posted them out. Good luck
