I got home from a ride this afternoon and noticed a cut in the rear drive belt on my 02 Heritage. It looks like it has picked up a stone at some time. Anyway I rang my local Harley dealer and they quoted me a total of $700, for the belt + 4 hours labor to replace it.  Is this a fair price?

    cheers, Neil

Someone was quoted $1500 for the same thing on here somewhere. The cost of the belt is minuscule compared to the labor costs. Big job to replace though, the whole drive train has to come off. And while they are at it get them to do all the seals on the inner primary as well. I hope mine lives for ever...

Just recently changed my belt, got one from M&M USA for $170 (plus postage about $30), gaskets/seals $25...

Was quoted $380 here, belt only...

Took 1/2 day to do, with a little help...

I haven't dug that deep on mine yet but I would definately be spending the money on any tools needed and doing it myself

Nilo is the cut on the belt edge or a stone hole in the centre? If on the edge replace it-- if it's in the middle with no edge tear keep riding.....
