I've got a 2011 FXST Softail Standard & I'm piecing together a D & M spear air cleaner, Vance & Hines 2 into 2 big radius pipes & a Screamin Eagle race tuner kit. My question is that i can't afford to get all the items at once so i was looking at buying the air cleaner & installing it first, then the pipes & remap at the same time. If i install the air cleaner without a remap will i damage my motor due to it running to lean etc? If the answer is yes i'll hold off & install all the items together when i can afford them.

Yes is the short answer. I would not open your air without a remap. Same with pipes. I would not run too long after swapping pipes without a remap.
