M&M do aftermarket parts got my stainless steel spokes from them
I'd knew you'ld like it.................
i've been dealing with these guys for the last 6 months without any issue what so ever.
it would pay to join the gold card memebership...............
NO GST and Minimal Freight Charges.
if they have the items in stock, place the order delivered to your doorstep within 4 -5 days..............
W O - L L A !!!!!!!!!!!!!
For a country whose finances are up to shit and companies that are struggling, what a stupid decision. I'd be quite happy to buy from my local dealer if they weren't ripping me off. Most of the items are nearly double the price than in the states. A free trade agreement and shipping in bulk doesnt add up to double the price. I paid double the price for my bike than it costs in the states, so why not sell me reasonably priced parts.
this is on chicago harley's web page .looks like they all appear to be doing as told by hd
I have dealt with J&P for a couple of years for both "Vintage" (shovel) and modern (TC) parts. They have a stunning range of brand name parts and accessories and their service is great. I have even phoned them up to query parts fitment etc and apart from the language barriers () it is a relatively cheap ($10-$15 call) way to ensure you get what you want. I would recommend them.

Yes it is a shit way to conduct a business just keep ripping the customer off till there are no more customers, and I hope HD go down the tubes with their greed.
JP Cycles great bunch but a bit slow with their delivery times, never have I had the goods delivered in 4 - 5 days I have had three orders over the last 2 months and they have taken around 2 - 3 weeks to arrive.
I have been purchasing some Dirtbike stuff from RockyMountianATVMC, now these guys are the best company that I have dealt with in the USA, delivery times are excellent 3-4 days i have had 3 orders from them this month.
I ordered a sticker (noise rating) through Sy's HD on the 18/4/11 and was told it might take up to 2 weeks to arrive because it has to come from HD in the US. After a month of no sticker I complained and was told sorry for the delay, it wont be long at all - so here we are the 4/8/11 and still no sticker or any info. I feel like taking the bike out the bush and blowing holes in it.
And how hard would it be to have someone you know in the states to buy the HD part for you and get them to send it. If you don't know someone that knows someone over their, your not trying hard enough.
I'm wondering if this 'new policy' might soon change / revert. By refusing to sell HD parts to anyone outside the US, HD USA are obviously losing serious $$$$$. With the US economy a basket case and seemingly getting worse, I can see HD USA changing their minds and welcoming our $$$$$ back in.
If it's a matter of survival, why wouldn't they?
I'm not into buying Gen HD parts but if you want to get around the problem try: www.priceusa.com.au
works well.
Best thing to do is boycott HD accessories, and tell local HD-HQ via email,,local sales of these items will stall.
Local dealers will not have the numbers(sales data) to back the policy, also lots of complaints from aust customers, policy will get dumped.
Okay if they wanna play it that way....fine!
Just to stick it up em, I WILL buy gen HD parts for the sled not after market......and Im gonna get it FROM THE STATES. Its not the US dealers givin to us...its aussie dealers. (would be happy to be proved wrong on this).
They wanna give me the pineapple...right back at ya....in my own little protest.
Have a nice day
The bike of the showroom floor comes with aftermarket parts and accesories already, wheels made in Aus, electronics China and Italy, Bling from China and Taiwan, even the farking oil comes from South America...
The main push for this comes from European and Canadian dealers, according to Yank HD forums, It's a very big OS market for HD...
Harley of recent time has degraded thier quality and after marketeers have improved...No brainer...
Bt
Luke, A question mate, if we here in the west take up your offer for parts etc. where does this leave the local dealer who can't or won't come down in price? They were against parts comming to Aus from US because they couldn't compete. So if you are cheaper than the local dealers are they not in the same situation again and will shut you down as well? It would be interesting to know if what you are doing is sanctioned by HD...
Interesting note just tried to buy some Mercruiser parts from the states price difference is not as great as HD but there are bucks to be saved.
Dealer has just informed me that he is no longer allowed to supply overseas orders. Now have to try and find new dealer and see if this is another American manufacturer that doesn't want Australian sales.
