Evilsim, CVO, and anyone else with metal-grind. Rust. Disaster.

I've been dreading this but thought I'd get away with it since my ride doesn't get wet too often. Rust on the front edge of the front guard. This happens when moisture gets in under the clear coat and it's apparently common. I have no visible chips anywhere in the clear coat. Have you had any trouble like this?

    Options would be:

    1. Repair and add a black paint strip and/or chrome strip across the front.

    2. Import a new guard. Not thanks.

    3. Repaint whole guard. Impossible to keep the same cool look.

    4. Repair and chrome the whole guard. See image below of a bike in Brisbane which I saw on the USA CVO site. Mate if you are on on this forumc0, is that why you did this? Looks pretty darn good but I'd much prefer to keep the bike original.

    Any comments?

    Settle down mate.

Just get a nice front guard cover, then before fitting rub back and seal the guard with paint (get a proffessional if unsure).

Should end up like this ...

Now Evil has forced me to stop sooking I can live with it a bit longer, then I'll get a panel beater to do it. Just want to make sure the ifx is permanent and that the screw holes don't cause any grief later.
