just changed cam and replaced bushes and brg, fitted new lifters, push rods, and fitted a pro adjust oil pressure unit, now when i start motor i have 60psi pressure at idle,is this going to cause problems.i fitted pro adjust as the oil pressure on cold start was 30psi but would drop to 10psi when hot at idle or at 100kph.any ideas.

As a shovel has no journal bearings oil pressure is not as critical, flow is more important for the rolling bearings and as you do not have a flow meter to check flow, a pressure  indicator is used, one of the biggest killers is an idle set too low which causes the pump to run slow and reduces oil flow.

if  the pro adjuster hooks into the high presure tower buy putting a stronger spring in there you are  building oil presure  to the hyd lifters & top end but robbing  oil too the crank big end ,esp @ low or idle as the oil presure will not be great enought to lift the piston in the tower that uncovers the  oil feed hole  that feeds  the pinion shaft  main bush that leeds to the big-end bearing , , if you use  50W + oil or greater you will have good oil presure , i use penrite HD OIL  it's 50/70W.
