Belt tension

Have just changed the rear tyre on my wide glide, is there any easy way to tell how much tension on the

belt is needed? I checked it against the notches on the lower belt guard before removing the wheel but now the belt sits a bee's dick lower on

    that guage.

Any tips, thoughts etc would be appreciated.

    cheers

with bike on jiffy stand, 1/4 to 5/16 inch (between sprockets, as viewed through the viewing window) with 10 lb force from underside of belt.

with bike upright and rear wheel off ground, 5/16 to 3/8 inch

(Or a quickie, twist the belt with ya pinkies and if ya can get it to twist more than 45 degrees it's too loose.)

First part of the vid talks about belt adjustment. 5/16 - 3/8 is 7 - 10mm. Use his finger method. Do it while the bike is on its stand. Ensure the wheel is adjusted equally both sides. He goes into that as well.

    Tip: Always use Google!
