With all the mods and bling we put on our bikes is there anyone out there that rides a completely stock standard bike as it came of the show room floor. With no intention of doing anything to it except services etc.

an interesting side to this....... a mate will only add genuine HD parts when he does any sort of mod..... I put on what I like/best option etc... don't give a flying f*%k if it's HD or aftermarket.......

Bobtail, I guess your question is

"You made your choice of bike - how close was it to what you REALLY want?".

In my case, I bought a 07 Road King Classic, and it met all my needs except for the seat height. I'm short. So I fixed that. Everything else (incl the lack of loud exhaust) suits me fine.

The good thing about HDs is that there's heaps of options available to make them what you REALLY want. Of course, what you you want can change....

I can't see anyone keeping their bike purely as it came off the floor.
Surely everyone changes the note from the stock exhausts in one form or another. Whether it be slip ons or a complete system, I would assume that has to be one of the first mods. Would anyone be happy with the factory note?

Once you join a forum you can forget about keeping a bike stock

There should be an us-spoken rule against keeping a Harley stock. It's just not right. If you want to keep your bike stock buy a japper.

    but you know what Flan

yours will ride just as well and you wont be as shit scared to get a chip or scratch as he would be, and that equates to more enjoyable riding

Could'nt imagine riding a HD without that distinctive exhaust note and all the chrome, (it was real painful getting the first 1600klm on the clock) hell thats why I brought one just so I could change it to the way i liked it

My bike can be shiny, but at the moment it is the daily commute vehicle ... I just cant see the sense in wasting up to 5 hours getting it all nice and shiny to then just get dirty all over

and where I live it rains a lot ...

so for me, I ride it regardless of how clean it is ... rain, hail, shine, cloud, cold ... and I love every minute

people say to me how can you ride in this weather (wet/cold) ... my answer ..I am on the bike, all is good in life

BT, I dont actually think Ive ever heard of any not doing any modifications, but that is why Harleys are so popular. You make it your own by these mods .

i think one of the best things about harleys is that you make them your own, every harley is slightly different ,be it the derby cover or handgrips etc,i enjoy trying to improve it to my taste within a tight budget

Mainey, I take it your dealer made you wait for the first service before changing the pipes etc.
Mine didn't, the mods were done before I picked it up.
Same deal when I got my Softail.
