It Pays to Call!!

So I received my insurance renewal from Swann in the mail a while back, and the lazy sack I am I have waited to the last day to renew! So today I was running around getting quotes etc from QBE and the like and then jumped onto the Swann website.  It was a bit confusing and the price stated on the website was nearly $200 more than my current renewal - So I decided to call them.

What my renewal stated was a value of $29,000 plus $4500 worth of accessores at a cost of $730.

Now I just want to insure the entire bike for $36K including my addeds.  So I spoke to a girl on the phone and we went throught it all and this is what I ended up with.

Total Agreed Value = $36,000   ( I based that on what it would cost me to replace it and add ons.)

PLUS $3000 worth of riding gear

    PLUS $1000 for helmet

PLUS $500 personal items  (No mobile of cash)

    No KM restrictions Full Compo

Total = $680.00  Pay by the month of $64.76.

So before you go off and renew your policy it pays to call, AND they told me that the pricing fluctuates daily, so call when you get the renewal, and get a quote, then call a few weeks before it runs and and get another quote - you might be better off.  :)

    No Probs!!

I was quite surprised myself at the outcome!!

I also found out that you need to ensure that you tell them EVERYTHING that is on the bike that you want insured. Also... some other companies (insure my ride is one) will ask if your bike has non compliant mods. So, basically your after market pipes that would pass the pits - are considered non compliant. Swann on the other hand were happy to list them as an extra!! Nice!!
