Hi all, had my Iron for almost 2 months now, and I'm absolutely loving it! Got caught in the rain yesterday (great Melbourne weather!) and of course its now filthy! The paintworks no worries, but I was just wondering how people clwean the engine? I find the matt black coating is a bit hard to clean and was after a couple of tips.

    Thanks all!

i've been in the rain twice now, and on the ring road where they are doing roadworks so its not only wet its muddy. i just used normal car was soap with a sponge and bucket, hose it all off, and fire up the compressor and blow dry off, or atleast use a shammy.\

Thanks guys, been using water and microfiber cloth which has been ok, but the compressor thing sounds like the go.

If there is hard crap in between the cooling fins like dried splattered bugs ect, I sometimes use a nylon .30cal rifle brush on a small handle and just carfuly give it a light scrub. Works for me.

For cleaning the blacked out wrinkle finish on the engine my bike i find the 3M brand stainless steel kitchen appliance polish in the aerosole can works really well.

Its also great for cleaning off the stray bits off chrome polish that get smudged on while polishing the chrome.

I ride rain or shine and find the black wrinkle just needs a sponge and normal car wash stuff.. not had any problems keeping it clean?

wet, sudsy scrub, rinse.. go ride..
