As someone that is getting very fed up with this nany state and all of it's stupid (and not so stupid) laws I wonder why there hasn't been an anti speed camera revolution yet?
We all know where the fixed cameras are but no one/group/club has seen the need to remove/damage/cover them so we can just concerntrate riding without spending our precious attention looking out for speed cameras. It's not like these things are hard to attack if someone chose to?
Now I am not advocating that anyone go out find them and destroy them !!!!, but I am wondering why we all sit back and let these big brother devises continue to happily snap pictures of us travelling along our roads.
Even the car mounted ones could be targets, most of the time they are just parked somewhere and left driverless.
These thoughts occured to me over the weekend while heading too and from the GOR as there are a large number of fixed cameras along the freeway between Melbourne and Geelong and all seemed in perfect working order (unfortunately for those that raced past me under the gaze of these cameras)
Or maybe I am wrong and there are good samaritains out there that block/cover or render these cameras useless or are we just too lazy and spoon fed these days that we will continue to let our elected government do whatever the hell these please to us?
What are your thoughts?
if its not just revenue then why did the police use them as a bargining tool . http://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au/news/local/news/crime-and-law/speed-camera-protest/2219945.aspx
These people have had enough as well

I heard this topic discussed on Top Gear and they mentioned wrapping the camera in cling film to blur the image and thought this was brilliant
That's just how we have all became.
if you really wanted to fight this type of thing you would refuse to own a credit card! now think about that.
Many moons ago when Cops did not need a thing just a batton & nuckles, they also had to stop you to book you no internet no electronic payment. they had to to work. also servo's were not self sevice, you road in or drove in stayed on your bike or in your car, an attendand would run out, you would give orders check tyre pressure check this check that you got a whole service for free, you told them how much you wanted to spend or if you wanted it filled up. then you payed with real money, no money no fuel i think we payed before they even filled up or might have been after, as Australia in them day's you never payed for nothing till you got it. then they would return with change and a smile. you road off or drove off.
then there was conflict in middle east & all of a sudden oil & petrol was in short supply world wide, over in USA they tried rationing only selling you say $2 worth, they had a problem as people would take over the pump help themself. so oil companys invented self service with a control pannel so they could control what or how much you got. all of a sudden they found they needed less implyees profits increaded. it came to Australia soon after. just took longer to get to the bush.
then we got plastic money so they take what they want, then they put electronic tolls easy money take as much as you want, we all think we know how much we pay.
now its too late won't be long and they will just electronicaly take your fine & also take what they want in fee's.
we are all to blame for being lazy. me included.
Another thing i think you should know.
in NSW back in early to late 80's, we did not wear helmets if we had an medical exemption, helmets were shit no opne liked them, Just like a Ferrari convertable driver would not like to be told to wear a helmet. we were all adult and old enough to choose. but . i don't know from who or why or how. they just said you all have to wear a helmet like it or not no medical exemption. so we had a big get to gether, we had more than one. bigger than any bike rally i've seen for years. there was enough of us down Maquarie street to get the Honourable Bob Brown to show up & talk, no other politician even showed up. Bob Brown reconed he was the biker's friend. vote me in boy's and no worries i'll get that compulsary helmet law kicked out. well Bob got in & youi know the rest.
just thought i'd tell you some history.
also once they get something your never goiung to change it so just fight it before it starts or live with it.
i'm probably wrong i hope so but just my take.
Cheers Krash
Now the Goverment is crying poor, stating that they will loose $10 million dollars, so you know what they will be doing probably another tax to get us back.
You poor sad fuckers down south. It may not be perfect up here but we are not overun with cameras yet.
Dont know if its true but I heard a story about a member of a SA OMC that saw the flash go off on a camera car (the old cameras that sat on the grass out front of the cars) he drove back past to see the operator asleep in the passenger side. One very red faced operator when he had to explain the missing camera.
working in canberra a week ago and it looks like nearly every 2nd set of lights had a camera on them. wife getting lost and watching speed made for a interesting couple of days
