Carried over from Uralla to Cooktown thread...............

 

Planning on a 3 week ride to Cooktown in 2013 to celebrate my 50th.

Never too early to start planning, I say! ........so here is my proposed route so far. Any input or advice welcomed.

 

Batemans Bay to Tarago via Kings Hwy and Braidwood Rd.

Tarago north thru Goulburn to Lithgow via Taralga and Oberon.

Lithgow down Bells Line of Road to Kurrajong

Putty Rd. to Singleton.

Singleton to Dungog, Gloucester, Walcha, Uralla.

Uralla to Grafton via Ebor.

Grafton to Casino, Kyogle, Rathdowney, Boonah.

Boonah to Esk via Cunningham and Brisbane Valley Hwys.

Esk to Nanango, Goomeri, Gayndah, Biloela.

Biloela to Rocky via Mt. Morgan.

Rocky to Cairns via Bruce Hwy.

Cairns to Cooktown.

sounds fantastic, now ya got me dreaming.

Burto: If time allows and ya like the scenic mountain's, from Esk go Kilcoy - Maleny ( via booroobin & Wootha ) - Kenilworth - imbil - Gympie - Goomeri.
COMPULSARY : FNQ.....Turn left at innisfail and do the Palmerston Hwy to Milla Milla then Atherton, then back down the mountains either to Gordanvale or, via Mareeba and Kuranda, trust me ya dont wanna miss out on that part of the world after travelling all that way. You could always go Mareeba - Mt Molloy - Cooktown heading north, then on the return south head down toward Mossman and do the Capt Cook hwy and back up through Kuranda to Atherton and down to Gordanvale....which would be better actually, less backtracking, unless of course you really need to go through that rat race shit hole of a place we call Cairns lol.
Keep us up to date Mate.....i'm hell keen in joining ya.....what are ya plans for accomodation, swags, pubs, motels or all of the above??

FF..........Thinking around October but will depend on others as well.

MH....... Hear ya mate.........lived on Sunshine Coast and Cairns area for a few years each. Plan on riding all those Tablelands roads at least once each, lived on the Gillies for a while. Have covered a lot of that area around Maleney (lived at Landsborough). Can always change routes on the way back, so could be on the cards!

 But, reckon I would like to least ride a few of the days headin north with ya all - if I'm not intruding that is.

Hi, i know im only new to the forum and don't know any of you but, living in Cairns i would be more than happy to do a meet and greet and do the last leg with you from here to cooktown. Providing i should most definately have a Harley by then!
