Hi,
I have a 2011 street bob with original pipes and rush mufflers and I broke the top header just in front of the muffler and O2 sensor. I think I broke it from leaning it over too far and scraped the bottom muffler on the road. the top muffler is connected by a mount to the bottom one and i think because of the way it is mounted it adds to the movement of the bottom muffler. anyways it broke so I got it fixed under warranty while i wait for a warranty replacement. However on my way home from having it welded up ....I leaned too far and ....it's broken again Damnit. I would like to know if anyone else is having similar problems and how they fixed it. I have measured the distance from the ground to the mufflers and the rear of the muffler is 1" lower than the front. I fugure if I loosen all the muffler mounts and pull everthing up and then retighten this may lift everthing up level. This happening to anyone else?
Thanks FXSTC 09.
Makes more sense. Sounds like good advice, I'll give that a go and see how she holds up. I will be getting the new header put on and maybe that will fix itself but i will do what you suggest in the meantime. Thanks again.
Yeah will do Hilly,
I will make the mechanics at the dealership aware of the alignment problem and hopefully they will fix it, and yeah I'll check the engine mounts. This has prvented me from going on a couple of good long trips already. i don't want it happening too often(ever again). Beside this problem I am completely happy with the bike.
