what would you think if you bought a 2011 96 cube blackline for 27500 then 3 months later the price gets dropped to 25500 and then 5 months later they reveal the 2012 model with a103 cube motor.what i am trying to work out is how much money have i lost with hd pullin that sort off shit.thats my first new harley and its gunna be the last
what can i buy a blackline at harvey normans can i. the point is how many other NEW MODELS can you name that they bought out and have done this.a NEW MODEL and after 1yr they change the motor size all other NEW LINE OF MODELS will hold the same size motor for a few years and the reason for 2000-3000 less is because of hd trouble with dollar and no bikes are being sold over here.why would a certain bike shop ring you and offer you a new bike with up to $3000 off the new price.it was not me personaly. it would be unreal for someone in the market for a new bike but it totaly shits on the sucker who has bought one ONLY IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS
Compare a HD 96ci to a HD103ci really there isn't that much difference, just a marketing thing to think your getting more for your money.
I am a muppet "sucker" that bought one so it appears this thread is aimed in my direction.
Couldn't give a fuck what is going to happen with the new model to tell you the truth.
I made the choice, ponyed up the coin and bought what I had worked long and hard for.
Regrets? Not a single fucking one.
I love the blooody thing and considering how long it took to me to get it, aint selling'the thing anytime soon.
103 vs 96? Wow, will go and cut my wrists right now. How much power does a muppet need? I havent had a problem keeping in front of the kamikaze cages and doubt I ever will.
Sorry for the slightly neg response but I thought this was forum for like minded people i.e. people that love their bikes, not knockers.
Seems I may have been wrong......
Sambo, I think that is the point of the thread..................forget the costs and just enjoy ya purchase for exactly that reason; you worked your ass off for it!! Get out there and ride it like ya stole it!
+1 Sambo,
I bought a 2010 Fatty Lo very happy with the price I got and have made it my own. Couldn't care less that the 2011 has ABS or the 2012 may get a 103 wouldn't swap my bike for quids (it's my bike).
Yeah mate, you've been caught out but ya can't do a thing about it. Maybe push the Dealer for hefty discounts on whatever upgrades you're looking at but I can't see what else you'd do. Had you known what was coming you'd have acted differently but that's just how business works.
Are you looking to sell it?
No? Then it's your brand new HD to relish and enjoy! I understand your disappointment but put it down to experience and make the best of it!
I had to wait until I was 50 before I got my first Harley. So the new one has a bigger engine. 103 compared to 96? 96 is still pretty big in my books. The new models have improvements? That's the nature of the game and what I'd expect. At the end of the day all that matters to me is
Must be a common age - I was 51 when I got a Harley, four months ago. Always had motorbikes but maily motocross and enduro. Getting a bit old to beat around the bush on bikesthese days, and the off road opportunities are limited. Really enjoying the Harley and my wife likes being on the back. Got just under 7000 kms in the four months, and only used for weekend rides, though one ride to Cooktown was 3500 kms.
Great to see some sensible replies.
Now if I am only 39 does that make me a Jnr. Muppet
