    Hi All.

Im looking to import a rolling chassis and engine/trans kit form the US and Im trying to get info on paper work Ill need and Taxs/Duties that Ill be looking at paying. Ive been to the AQIS and all the other sites and find it all a bit confusing with not many answers (maybe Im looking in the wrong place or am just a bit slow) and after being on hold for 30mins trying to talk to someone Ive decided to take a new track!

Any info/advice would be hugely appreciated! Also its a Kraft tech frame, Springer frontend, drag bars, 16" 80 spoke back and front, 100" Revtech 4X4 engine with 5 speed Revtech trans all for very reasonable price from what my research shows me

    Thanks

Ok now Ive had a look at other around the site I know the $1000 limit deal but havent found anything about paper work required, does this mean none is required due to the import being parts?

We have been though this a few times now.. DONT BUY A KIT BIKE OUT OF THE US,
I can help you with every thing to Build the Bike here, I am the Aust Agent for Kraft Tech, . I hear from guys evey week at work that have Bought Kits from the US ,When that have Finaly arrived Parts are Missing or Wrong,
The Shops in the US dosnt whant to help fix the Problem and they contact me to help them get the right stuff to put the Bike togerther and make it meet ADR.
None of the Lighting or Speedo's that the US have meet our ADR Rules. The other Problem is Warranty, It costs you more to Freight the Part Back to the US than what you paid to it,

If it's a Engine your Screwed. Rev Tech would have to be the Worst Engine you could buy, Made in Taiwan. and then there is Tax and Freight bringing a Bike Kit in to Aust.

If it is a Bobber your looking at Building I can Supply you with a Complete Bike Kit starting at $16.000 fot a 150 Rear Tyre and Pro Streets From $22.000 all with Waranty .I also supplie the Parts that you want ,not what the sales guy whats to sell you.

I had a guy on Monday Bought a Engine, Gear Box, Primary, Stater motor and Brakes of the US Shop, The US Price for every thing was $6800.00, It cost him landed at his door $8100.00, Only the Motor and Primary turned up, The rest is Missing, The Freight Company said they where only given two Boxes, The Shop in the US said they sent every thing, After 2 weeks of fighting with the US Shop, the Guy there will not speek to the Customer and has told him to Fuck off and never contact him ever again, So the guy is out of a Gear Box, Stater Motor and Brakes, The Engine didn't come with any Paper work or MSO, The Guy asked me if I can get a Copy of the MSO because he needs that for the Engineer, I can't help him becase the Engine wasnt sold to me, and I geuss now he has no Warranty on the Engine too.

You welcome to call me Ian VPW 03 8405 9212, ,,, Im of this week on leave call me next week

Im a newbie to bike building world but i can help a little on this subject, I work for a large international freight forwarder at Melbourne Airport and i see the problems every day regarding importing parts/bikes... One thing that seems to bite people in the ass is the duties if they buy themselves a "Kit bike" with engine, chassis etc.... they dont relise that if they buy a complete bike from the states even in parts that customs will charge them duties on importing a vehicle...Also regarding lost packages, alot of it has todo with the supplier not packing it "Properly" the ammount of freight that comes in from the USA in crappy box's with 30kgs plus in them is rediculous lol
