G'day Fella's,
I am picking up my new Street Bob this Friday. Really looking forward to throwing my leg over my own H-D.
I went straight for the Dyna instead of a Sportster after a brief test ride, and have had to wait six months for my Silver ride. The wait hasn't been the dealers fault, its been work commitments that have kept me away.
So, as part of the delivery process, what are some of the pertinent areas I should be checking before riding away? I understand that some bikes dont have the headbolts tightened suffieciently at the pre delivery stage which creates some seriously shithouse handling characteristics? How do I check this on the showroom floor? How important is it to be so vigilant on other areas during the delivery process on a new bike?
What were your experiences when picking up your own new bikes? Good or bad!
I will be sure to take a heap of pictures too, because this bike will slowly get morphed into how I want it. Nothing too out there, just understated.
Cheers.
Picked it up......
My first Harley Davidson experience has started well. Got it home and stripped the shithouse stock mufflers off it, and threw on the Freedom slip-ons. Pissed the neighbours off well and truly. Must have achieved the right effect. I didn't keep it running too long being a sunday night and all. I am heading to MCAS tomorrow to get some baffle fibre material to take the edge off the sound. Still awesome though.
I also threw on a set of screamin eagle ignition leads and a few other little bits and pieces. All in all a 6 pack or so effort and the best sunday I have had in 6 months.
Pics to follow tomorrow night once I find my camera cable.
.. I'm reliving that feeling in your words.. good on ya bro, and congrats.. Stay safe..
