G’Day SNAPT,
Should be pretty straightforward. As everyone always says “get a manual”, if you want to download one go here: http://www.4shared.com/account/dir/mWghPw7P/sharing.html
Now, there is no real need to drain the tranny first. I've opened up the side cover a couple of times and did not drain first. I just left the bike on the side stand overnight and worked on it without straightening it until everything was back on. Oil loss was 1 or 2 drops. Make sure your work area is clean and draft free. Put a sheet or towel underneath the bike to catch any little bits that may drop off, make it a light colour so you can see it. Put a pan under the housing where the cable enters the tranny. Remove the cable from the clutch lever. Remove the exhaust system if you need the clearance to get to the tranny cover. Undo the bolts and pull the cover away from the bike. A couple of light taps with a rubber mallet might be needed. Inside you will see the cable. Remove it from the inner ramp. You have to rotate it and the inner ramp will come out. Don’t loose the ball bearings. Unscrew the cable. Install the new cable in reverse. Always replace all gaskets and O-rings with new. Put it all back together and adjust your clutch as per the manual. You want about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever.
Have fun,
Cris.
