I read in one of the US forums that the springs on the M6 were not up to speed and were breaking. Having looked at them all I think "The Wedge" looks a better manufactured product and it has the hydraulic ability built into it. Considering it is the similar price as the others I would think that could be a better option than the OEM one. I have had to readjust mine twice in the last couple of years due to the adjuster not taking up the slack. And if the chain has stretched in different parts that normally happens, it can cause over tightening in parts and put more stress on other parts in the drive. On their website they have a small vid of the M6 in action, a lot of difference in chain tension between the 2..

Hey All, I understand that this is an old thread but I am wonder if anyone knows if I can buy the Teflon chain guide instead of the whole Primary Chain Guide Tensioner 39929-06B? Also, I have found two part numbers for the Auto tensioner one is the 40063-05B and the 39929-06B.... does anyone know what the difference is between the two? I can get a complete unit from the states for under $90 but here they are approx $150....

    Any help is appreciated....

Ive just fitted a Zippers cam chain tensioner kit'
has a twin piston hydraulic system for the outer chain, which is said to prevent "rocking" of the Teflon block
as per the single piston ones.
and a new tensioner for the inner chain as well
If you get them thru ZIPPERS themselves, you can get an oil pressure relief valve spring with it.
Which will improve oil flow in general, but also improve oil control to chain tensioners
But trying to get that spring with it thru Rollies, is a no go [doesn't exist according to them]
Yet it is clearly available on ZIPPERS site
Luckily for me my mate helping me with engine mods had a spare BAISLEY spring [does same thing]
Via Rollies, and the local indy, it cost me $190 for the chain tensioner alone [ but it was one of them things I just had to have]

I know this is an old thread but I am about to change the oils in my 99 FXD and check the primary adjustment. Not sure what the bike has in it yet but if it needs replacing what is recommended. It has a SE 1550 kit and goes pretty hard. It has almost 63000k's on the motor. I was told that the original owner had the 1550 kit done before he picked it up. It has had no internal work done since and still runs great.
