Bullshit!
Not looking to start an argument here but that is bullshit. No one is born into their job these days we do what we do by choice . So I dont believe Pol;ice are hero's or truckies or soldiers. To me the definition of a hero is someone who risks their safety or life for any one else and people from all walks of life do that every day so yeah if you do that and you happen to be a soldier/police/truckie then you are a hero but because of the action you took. Not because of what you do for a living. And before any truckies get the shits yes I have done it for a living.
But too many of them are smart arsses , they harass people on bikes and in cars , who do they think they are , mind you im talking about some truck drivers not ALL Just the cowboys
good one steamer, some of those shit canin truckies need to spend a day in the cab with us to see what we have to put up with, yes there are the cowboys but they exist in all forms of transport, unfortunatly the truck driver is always wrong, like steamer i drive for a living and have to deal with idiots every day,so all you knockers have a day with a truck driver(not a cowboy) you might see things in a whole new light.stand by for the shit to hit the fan.
Hmmm, i read this with an open mind. my wife and i just had a driving holiday with our 16yr old boys who are on their L's. We never sat behind the wheel for 6 days, we drove 2100k's at 80k's an hour. I s'pose we done the cardinal sin and left home on a Sunday. hit the Pacific highway at around 3pm. Heading north, i was shocked and stunned at the disregard truck drivers have for learner drivers. My hat is off to both my boys, they kept their cool, done everything by the book. A few scares where the trucks just had to get in front of us as the overtaking lane was merging. A couple of FUCKWITS and i say that without a smile on my dial, hit us with high beam, we had no road, the indicator was on, we had no choice, the manouver was legal and the trucks where given enough indication of our intentions. In all the k's we done, 1 truck allowed us to merge, he was in a Finemores' truck. I imagine the pressures some truck drivers are under are extreme, but to put the lives of innocent drivers as well as their own at risk, just so they DON'T GET STUCK BEHIND THE LEARNER is pretty fuckin stupid too me. I was a learner driver/rider, be a it a long time ago, but i haven't forgotten what it was like. I'm not baggin the "truckie" as such, s'pose i should thank the "cowboys" for showing our boys what it's like out there. I hope they remain as calm and collected as they did when put under pressure. From Gloucester to Hervey Bay at 80k's, Mutha and i got to see a lot of country, (slowly moving past). Fuel economy was stupendous. Truckies, Train Drivers, Ashphalt and bitumen, Gravel and Red Dirt do carry this country. Now, let's see the shit hit the fan...............Locked and loaded. CHK CHK
Might be goin against the general "grain" of this thread, but after 30 odd years of riding motorcycles in all states of Aus.........I gotta say that "in general" I feel a lot safer around trucks than I do around cars, especially P and L platers!
Maybe I spose because I don't get stuck between or in front of trucks so much.........the beauty of riding an agile and quicker form of transport.
I have generally found that the majority of truckers treat bikes with a lot more respect than car drivers............as for L platers, no offence FBM but you sit on 80kph on a highway, especially on a weekend or public holiday...........your'e gonna get some grief!!..not just from truckies!
Burto.
I just don't get it why do trucks or cars want to sit about a foot of your arse when your driving or riding.
I use to drive trucks for several years and I wouldnt want to do that boring job again, but each to there own.
GEEEZ!!!!......i do get a little excited when pissed
Now M2CW
1. Cowboys in all industries.
2. L Platers are entitled to learn on our roads. Be fuggen courteous to em
Well said rumman, and i agree 100% with you. After our road trip, i'm confident both our boys will be wise enough to watch over their shoulder. They both ride as well, so they are aware of the risks involved there. Anyway, with the way our beautiful country is heading we'll all be packin' side arms and sawn offs soon. Problem solved. You know, PEACE, LOVE and all the OTHER BULLSHIT. pffft
AcroBATS???????
......................happy days everyone ..........
1. Point taken Burto.
2. What have you started here Stephen
3. Now what is this fog line ruling for NSW
Here ya go Steamer...........from the Australian Road Rules (which apply to all States and Territories)
(reckon you were hard done by, old mate!)

(d) overtaking a vehicle that is turning right, or making a U–turn from the centre of the road, and is giving a right change of direction signal; or
(e) driving a slow-moving vehicle; or
