    Hey Vmax,

Either way you travel from SA then inot NSW through Balranald to Hay and then onward where you can choose either downward south slightly to Wagga Wagga area then back up the freeway or Hay direct across to Cowra, Lithgow and over the Blue Mountains to Sydney.  If ya daughter lives in the south or south west of Sydney I personally would come up from Wagga Wagga way, however if she lives in the west, north west, north or east then I would come over the Blue Mountains.

    Cheers.

PS:  Steamer is known to use a Tom Tom  which takes us all over the place

Not sure where in adelaide you are vmax but as you leave people normally say to travel through murray bridge, lameroo, pinaroo, owyen coming out just at the servo on the hay side of balranald. I have travelled that way in both car and on bike anolng with travelling the other way past gawler, truro, blanchtown etc through to mildura and balranald. The first will tell you its quicker if you check by google maps or similar but the roads are way better travelling out through the mildura way which makes for alot nicer ride imo. Time difference is not alot either way and if your not from outer southern suburbs you prolly wont notice mucn time difference at all.

Thanks guys for the responses.I waited till this morning to respond cos if I won the $30 mil last night I would have bought a Personal chopper (heli) and flown there with my personal pilot but twas not to be
I drove a few yaers ago down the M.B. Lamaroo way and come up into Sydney from the South but havent been over the Blue Mountains Katoomba way for 25 years or more so didnt really know what had changed.
I live in Newton so my best option will be out through Mildura and as my daughter lives in Five Dock sounds like over the Mountains is the best way and hopefully less trucks than coming up through Wagga Wagga,Anymore suggestions would be appreciated

    Onya Vman,

I live not far from 5 Dock.  So come along  over the Blue Mountains mate.  The roads have all been reasonably upgraded over the past 25 years.

The Great Western Highway through the mountains still has a fair bit of single lane each way, but there has been a lot of dual carriageway done.

Mate, as your ride get closer send me a PM and I will ride out to Lithgow and meet ya then ride back with ya

If the date fits well, I will raise a few forum fellas to come with me and escort ya into the Big Smoke
