Sometimes the Windows 7 operating system on some of the Netbooks have trouble with certain applications and peripherals.
They normally run Windows 7 Starter which is a cut down version of the full blown Windows 7 OS, making the Nebooks cheaper and more appealing, not to say that the Netbooks are rubbish just makes them cheaper.
The Toshiba Netbook I have is a great little computer and I purchased it just so I could take it away when we go on the bike. Nice and compact, not real keen on the smaller keyboard but it does the job, upgraded the ram now its much more user friendly :-)
Had a problem with my Toshiba Netbook with it not recognising certain USB hardware, I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro then the Netbook would recognise the USB periferals
I'm gunna drag this one out of the depths.
What was the outcome with this way of thinking?
Was there a really suitable small tablet style device that is suitable for TTS V Tuning?
Size and price and ability are all to be factored.
Over to the masses.
Regards
yeh I know. Stinkin work, stuffs up good tinkering time.
I run a HP Netbook with a 160Gb hard drive. Upgraded ram to 2GB ($28), run full XP as it is less resource hungry. Battery lasts a full day easily (6 cell).
The qwerty KB is the same size as my 15.4" laptop just missing the numeriacal keypad. Don't bother with a wireless mouse anymore. I have EFI Live and SEPST and they run fine. $45 buys an external CD/DVD/Burner incase you need to load up anything.Cables connect by USB
The only downside is when you close the screen down it stops recording. Easily fixed I leave it open. Screen goes through 135 degrees and when fully open fits in the backpack but I just put it in my jacket around my hard worked abs (not).
Rooster your a dead set legend. I had the "always on" power setting. Now found the tab for the "close lid" "do nothing" settings. New they were somewhere, just CBF looking.
