Hi Steve,

you still need to do something with your fuel for decel pop and all open loop operation. The Xieds only work in closed loop ie- cruise mainly. The decel pop is still most likely coming from the slip ons you have ( if you have already eliminated the potential exhaust leaks).

                  I've got a FXSTC07 with V&H staggered bigshots and a hyper charger pro air cleaner, I was running the V&H fuelpac which helped alot but still popped alittle on decel. Went to a Thunder Max with auto tuner, man what a difference. Now I know one is an add on and the other a whole unit but it made a huge difference, but what Greg is saying is right if the fuel and air are not right then popping will happen.

Mate, got the same prob with the Fatbob. Love the header pipes so put a set of slip on's on. New K&N filter, and the Nightrider xied's or what ever they are. Cheap and nasty, did'nt solve the decel pop, (engine run a bit cooler) and you pay for what result you get. i.e. get the best and forget the rest, if your gunna hang on to the bike like me. Now I'm  looking for the best, any suggestions out there?

I just today had the SE pro race tuner installed and the new SE AC and im as happy as larry......shitload more grunt just there...too freakin dear me tinks but as u i will be holding on to the RK for a while and my next step is the big bore job so thats what i really needed......depends on how much cash u have to blow....

U will find that MIck is a bloody gentleman...I went and saw him for a chat b4 i decided on what i got and he didnt hesitate to drop everything and talk to me......if thats ur intention i believe Mick will have the answer ur lookin for mate...

Picked up a stock 07 Fatty a coupla weeks ago and have ordered Rush 1.75's and a big sukkar. (The missus reckons that is appropriate).

Now have to decide on fuel management so your results will help with the decision.

Hi Hogman,

the exhaust Actuator is located in the tail end of the primary rear exhaust pipe on the standard pipes. Follow the exhaust pipe along and you will see it ( if you havent changed your pipes). You can look at our website for where to find it and how to eliminate it without modifying your bike. Simply plug in an Exhaust actuator eliminator and the flap stays open. No requirement for self tapers, etc.

Note, the butterfly is closed in most normal riding conditions except Idle and over about 70 kph. I must admit, I struggly to see that this will be giving you the decel pop talked about, as its purpose is to redirect all gases through one muffler box during city type riding to keep noise down. It is infront of the muffler boxes and directs all the gas through the front muffler box.
