Does anyone know what is required to put the taller nightster front wheel on a 48? Is it just a wheel change or do the whole forks need to be changed?

It would be the entire front end, if you're after one, I'd be keen to do swap! Have a 2010 Iron and am looking to make a few changes, have been investigating 80 spoke wheels for the front and back, however wouldn't mind putting the 48 gear on!

I would do that for sure, but you'd have to wait until October...

Not wanting to rain on any parades here. The Wollongong Frasers entry into the 48 build off competition run earlier this year put a standard width front wheel from a Nightster on a 48. They did not change the forks, just used different spacers for the front axle (I think?). Looked a bit strange to me, but each to his own....If you rang them and asked for Mitchell, I am sure they could tell you what they did. TC

Why wouldn't you buy a nightster and put a 48 peanut tank and single seat on it.. Hey presto! 48 nightster cross.. Sounds a he'll of a lot easier than replacing the front end of a bike..

48 and nightster are pretty much the same bike otherwise.
