48's due its first service, time to take a breath and ask a few questions now ive become comfortable with it.

1. Oil Leak - On most rides notice a small amount of oil spatter on the rear pipe, oil tamk and can trace it back to wetness on the fins near the rear exhaust.  Is this jsut an adjustment, gasket ?

2. Tail Lights -  We have amber coloured rear lenses, the U.S spec bikes have RED.  I prefer the RED. However  do the US spec bikes with a Red lens still shown the turn signal as Amber when turned on - Assume so as the amber LEDS are so bright . Although even it it would still work OK, It doesnt look like a straight lens swap like with the front lenses,  it doesnt look like a plug and play item the LED looks integrated into the lens. 

Mate I had an 883 had the same kind of oil spatter as you point out. It leaking out from the AIR FILTER believe it or not!!!!

If you take the airfilter cove off and have a look you'll see that each head has a oil breather that drains into the airfilter.

I took mine back to the dealer and was told some breath oil some dont. Same as some car use oil and some dont even new ones....

My cure was after every HARD ride I'd remove the cover and give it a good clean and wipe out all oil from the filter area. Or every 300klm.

Takes about 10 minutes and saves alot of time later when you wash it.

Its only a few drops but spreads like a $2 hooker that oil. I hope this helps mate and enjoy the 48.

I traded up to a DYNA and dont have that problem anymore but do miss spending the time removing the oil and thinking about the hard ride of the day. Dyna just lopes along and eats it up ( I should have keeped the sporty).
