    Hi all,

Got a couple questions about camshaft installation any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im in the process of changing my cams to tw37 on a 09 fxdf with 7000km on her

would you guys recommend replacing the cam bearings? or can i get away with the original ones with so few km on them.

Whats the best way to find tdc when installing push rods im using the Andrews ezy install.

    Thanks

    Glaz

i would change out the bearings , but probably get away with leaving them in with low k's you have. to find TD, lift rear of bike put it in gear, remove plugs then plug them into leads . now turn wheel and feel through plug hole with wire till pistons up top. my mate has a scew in wistle.

Scotty had a step by step guide when he was here but they are gone. When I done mine I replaced bearings and lifters, Got them from Zanotties in the States. When I cost a single Lifter here I was able to buy 4 for the price of one in the US. However HH are doing very good prices on stuff on here now. Also check your cam chain tensioner for wear. They are relatively cheap.

Im going ahead with the bearing change but the tools are pretty expensive.

Ive found a US company on ebay called MBSMFG $170 delivered removal/install tool plus temkin b168

I was quoted $1500 for cam upgrade from local hd shop ride in ride out

Doing it myself less than half that with a oil change as well.

Change the oil after a week as well. Just put Dyno in it for that period, and the filter at the same time.
