Here's some pic's of my 48. Picked it up on Friday. First Harley and I have to say I'm loving it. Added v & h pipes, white walls and as much black as I could. Next I might paint the tank to get rid of the Sportster. At first service Peter Stevens is adding the fuelpak and going to dyno it.

    Hi Liz,

I don't have much feedback as it has been raining nearly every day since I picked it up and only been out once. Coming from sportsbikes I was under the impression the 48 (and Harley's in general) would be more difficuilt to ride and take some getting used to. From when I rode out of the Dealer's car park I realised this bike was a dream. Don't have to ride the clutch as much in traffic and seating position is great. All round it is much easier to ride than a sportspike and easier at low speed due to the height from the ground. It is a little rough on the bumps I saw but to be expected. I might get some suspension mods from YSS in Adelaide over the next year or so. Only other thing that annoyed me is that the rear brake is a little high. I'm about 6ft and would be better if it was a little lower. I'll see how it goes and might get the shaft/lever shortened to bring it down.

Fuel Pak is actually called the Screaming Eagle EFI race tuner (I believe there are other options/makes available). It pretty much allows me to edit the bike to take advantage of the vance and hines exhaust and breather kit. When I have it serviced they will Dyno it to get the best power. I should pick up a few hp or so....Does that sound about right guys????

I guess I must like the bike as I have to go and sit on it every night!!!!

will be interested to see power figures from the dyno .... you getting Peter Stevens to do it ..... mate got great figures from his road king off there Dyno last week ...... 86 hp and 97 torque ...... cams, breather, exhaust, etc but still a 96 cube

Thanks Scouser but i already have the breather on it and the tuner in my drawer at home. Will be interesting to see your front suspension. I usually work every second sat but I might have this one off (I'm not working this weekend)

Yeah peter Stevens for the Dyno Watto. Supposedly it usually costs around $400 but they had a deal for only $160...... Will be interesting to see a power figure and also if there is any noticable differance on the road. I'll post the figures after the service,.

are these tuners locked to one bike only or can they be shared ??

I've had similar experience with turbo car's, set exhaust/air intake and intercooler combo's etc.

    sorry bit off topic

Scouser i got told opposite at PS , with my bike they just put the tune that they know close to best for pipes and filter ( SERT ) ....... and now with dyno they can tune it exact ??? and get max power and not run it lean right through gears ans rev range !!! thinking of getting done once the service is done ...

I'm assuming the dyno will allow them to tweak the bike to get the best power. There is a good chance they know exactly what that setting is so its the same for all sportsters with say my bike that has v & h pipes. I guess you need to pay for the tuner to allow you to make the changes in the first place......

You both are probably right. I don't think you actually need the dyno to set up the tuner but I think (hope) it can be used to squeeze a bit more power out of it. If not,  im just happy to get an indication of exact power!!

    Hey Dave,

When you drop around i'll show you the SERT programs and check which one they down loaded on to your bike.
