When I was a kid we only had pushbikes. First motorbike was a Honda XL185 when I was about 16.

Then after a few years gap it was a Kawasaki VN800A, because I couldn't afford a wide glide. Comfortable bike, good tourer, but not a Harley.

About a year later I found a Harley that I could afford... a 98 Superglide. Loved this bike, but wasn't a fan of the narrow glide front. Had some good trips on it though. Handled beautifully.

WOW Paul,  That's the same kind of beast I had, swapped 2 skate boards for it, my old man got it going & my bro & I spent so much time on it we wore it out, what a flash back, mind you our's was no where near as neat looking as that.

Thoses little Honda's must be responsible for starting so many people on the path to bikedom.

    Thanks for that.

My first bike that i owned was a XR 200. The oldies said that if i ever bought a motorbike home they would put an axe through the tank(they once owned bikes and i was a little bit wild).Mum won a ER175 in a raffel and i went out the next day and bought it, as if it was good enough for them it was good enough for me, i was about 17. My first road bike was a Harley Deuce which i got 4 years ago and still have, and i part own a smick BSA Bantam 250cc which the cook thinks is my mates, and vice versa.Women just dont understand for some reason.

    Malvern Star

Then added a small petrol motor to the same bike. No clutch or brakes to talk of. Later I extended the forks by cutting and adding longer tubes. Jesus that thing didn't wanna go around corners.

Sorry no photos of it. Box brownies were expensive in those days.
