Riser extensions for Fat Bob and Wide Glide 08-11

I'm in the process of making 2 inch riser extensions for my FXDF, as I've found it very hard to find longer risers to suit 1 1/4 inch bars. I've sourced the materials, organised my powder coater and done all the measuring and research to get it right. While I make mine, I thought I would see if there is any interest from other forum members wanting the same thing. I'd be more than happy to knock out extra sets or even make them to order if there is enough interest. Should I sell (cost price plus postage to members) the extensions as a stand alone item or in kit form (bolts included)? I could make varying lengths, 1", 1 1/2", 2". The only issue that I'm aware of is with 2011 models having a slightly shorter clutch cable than previous years but not a hard issue to get around. Any thoughts, queries or questions?

Wouldn't be hard Piglet, I'd just need the measurements (external diameter, internal bore size for the bolts etc) and whether you want powdercoat black, polished or raw?

Thanks Phil, that's where I got the idea. 1" will work on 2011 models or 2" if you nab an 08-10 clutch cable which is what I've sorted for mine. Apparently the only reason HD shortened the cable was to tidy it up a bit.

Personally I prefer the black straight up risers and as I have long arms and legs this is an ideal mod for me, just thought I could punch out a couple of extra sets when I do mine if forum members wanted them.

I'll sit down and work out my full costings when I get home (away with wifey for the weekend) but I'd expect around the $15 -$20 mark dependent on what bolts I can source, plated or stainless etc

What risers are you using big fella? If they are not the same as stock FXDF I'll need some measurements ;)

well , i just had a good look and there are extensions on it already , they are 38mm high by 28mm wide.. so i might ditch the t-bars and put a set of 10'' pull backs like of a wide glide oe street bob ..

    Hey there Filthy Phil.

just wondering if you'd measured how much further back those pull back risers place your actual hand position compared to the standard Fat Bob risers.

I'm 5 foot 10, but reckon I'd be much more comfortable with the bars about 4 inches back to give me a more upright riding position, and also to shift more weight to the rear for better handling.

    Cheers over a coupla beers
