    The bike is nearly finished...

Just walked through the door from Rough Crafts in Taipei, Taiwan

    http://roughcrafts.com/

Its beautifully made, carefully polished stainless brackets, stitching is perfect, seat pan is solid.. Only thing concerning me is two rivets holding the rear bracket, hoping they wont contact the rear guard

I think the two rivets are actually for the front mate, if you check out their website the bikes have their brand tag at the back so the two rivets would be at the front near the tank.

The bloody front bracket has been installed crooked and off centre.. it should fit as its a bit bendable but will sit off centre.

I'm hoping I can get an undrilled bracket from him and drill it off centre to make it sit straight.

thats easy fixed, slot the holes, make a small plate with holes drilled to size, place plate over top, position bracket where needed then tighten screws, easy as, should be able to do that in 30mins depending on how many beers you need. if its something you are unable to do pm me and i'll fix it for you.

    New seat looks Sweet.

There are some nice bikes on the Roughcrafts website, great to see guys out there willing to take on the challenge and design some nice Bling bits

Wasn't a huge drama in the end, the bracket was a little flexible, bent ever so slightly so it mounts pretty well. If you look at it top down closely you can see it's a bit off, but really in the whole scheme of things it's a non issue (I used to be the most picky anal bastard on the planet.. I must be getting old!)

It looks completely PIMP! Will get some pics later.
As for the rivets.. I cut an old rubber mouse pad and lined the back of the seat for insurance, stuck it on with dbl tape, should protect it well.

It's a beautiful seat, hard though!!

I have to say Winston got back to me very quickly and offered a full replacement, great support!

Here we go.. pic of seat on bike..

As for how it rides.. its hard, its very firm.. but its good, feels supportive, plants your butt a few inches back from the original, not sure I'd like to try it with forward controls, would be a bit of a stretch.

Decent trip?! Ha ha, with my mods I get 76ks before the light comes on, 96ks until I'm getting REAL nervous!

I'll buy a Roadglide should I ever get the urge to do long trips!!

Come to think of it, an hour on the stock seat is probably about my limit, just find it 'unsupportive'! But I also have the mid controls fitted which may be part of it. The RC seat is way more comfortable for me.
76ks.. That's pretty much just two days of commute for me, I've never seen the 48 as a distance bike, the gearing is all wrong for sitting on highway speeds anyway, revving way too high at 110kmh, if distance was important I'd have looked at a different bike, I find it slightly amusing when guys buy the 48 and fit taller shocks, bigger tank, touring seats!! It's meant to be low and impractical!! It's a silly pose bike, like a ducati monster!

MrMow, seat looks great. I'm thinking of ordering a bobber from the US today.

I got onto Rough Crafts from Bike Exif (great blog buy the way). I have put a comment on Winston's blog but no response. How do you get in contact with him?

I'm thinking of getting the black air cleaner and headlight grill.

I've found he can be a little slow being a one man show, but he's always got back to me within 2-3 days, forget his blog.. His Facebook is pretty decent though.
