Buggered if i know, i get my best performance with NO filter.
but i started riding my bike & ride to work on it too so got a SE filter, this is on a CV51 carb, its a dry type but looks white to me, so far so good i don't use a cover at all so will watch it, been in heavy rain a few times still ok.
a thing i thought you should know about K&N if you over oil them they don't flow well at all, i had mine over oiled, was dynoing the bike, we washed it dryed it & saw a power gain. but a dry K&N filter even though it flows more air, filters less dirt too. i think the paper ones filter better dry than a dry K&N but if what happened to Hogbagger happens they would not filter any better than no filter at all, only stop stones.
cheers
