drop a PM to Stix... he had his fall out, plus has had his primary off more times than I've seen my bike lately .... lol
Thanks very much. Is there anyway of gettin the cap out without removin primary cover. If not id better order a gasket.
There should not be any oil behind the plug.
There is a gasket inbetween the outer and inner primary cases.
When foward controls have been fitted and the old shift sharft is removed .there is nothing to stop the covers fretting and the gasket becomes lose and leaks.
Have a look at the other end of the hole you will see oil there to.
To repair- Remove outer primary replace gasket. Remove chrome cap while primary is of. Refit primary cover
Insert dummy shaft ie neat fit wooden dowell into old shift shaft hole to stop cases fretting.replace chrome cap
My 07 streetbob leaked within 1000ks of fitting foward controls, did the job hasnt leaked since. Done 30000ks
Have a look at uncle ho,s link.
No 4 Tower gasket, is the gasket that needs to be replaced.
