    Hi Guys,

I am going mad trying to work this shit out.  Am I right to say that the 88 and 96 are the same bore size, what would you have to do to make a 88 into a 96, would you have to change the heads and stoke the motor, or are the heads the same?  I am chewing over a 95, with a rebore, clean the heads and flat top pistons with either Andrews 26 or 37B cams, I don't want to race or anything just want some more punch really.  So would a change of cams and a screaming eagle tuner remap give me that, I already have Screaming Eagle Slipons and a Stage I filter kit or would I be better to go to the 95?  Any help would be great

If your struggling, find a good shop, and get them to do the work for you.
You have to know first what you want out of the bike, and what you want to spend.
All the info is out there, but you need to spend a few hours researching.
Yes, 88 & 96 share the same bore size, different stroke. The heads are also "basically" the same.

The 96 is a different stroke to the 88. If you want to put bigger slugs into an 88, it makes it a 95. New pistons, barrels, good set of cams, head work etc will make an 88 go very well, but you'll still be wanting another gear for long rides. Unless your bike is a keeper, save the money and upgrade to a new bike with it all done including the 6 speed box. Whatever you spend is lost at sell time
