Was riding long before I started to watch bike movies - took awhile to find out what was around!
Freebird is a top movie, bit of humour, more like shits and giggles than the serious biker movies. Stone was pretty good. The "long way" movies - but you have to admit, going for a ride with full sponsorship and several backup vehicles kinda defeats the purpose.
I'll be looking for that che guevera movie, haven't seen that one yet.
Any other "touring" movies out there? prefer them to the "biker" gang related movies....

DAVE BARR   Double amputee had his legs blown off while in active service o/seas  Has been some doco's on him but I haven't seen many. What an amazing bloke to ride where he's ridden. No one on the planet can say they've done that or been there.  And on an ol shovel to boot!  Google Dave Barr and suss out his adventures. Leaves Long Way Round or Down or whatever for dead.  Siberia,Russia, Alaska, etc. Minus a zillion degrees in the cold places to boiling hot in other places.  In Australia,he went to the most Northern,Southern,Eastern and Western parts of Oz.  To get to the Nth tip of  oz, he took his front wheel off his then, 883 Sporty, and carried it to the "Most Northernest Part Of Australia"  sign at Cape York. Too rough to get the bike there.

Easy Rider would have to be the movie though.

and Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends

I've still got 2 Z1000's. My first big bike was a new Z1R mk11 (6 weeks) . Sold it for a honda 750 hardtail/springer front end. Sold that for one

of my current Z1000's 30 years ago. Wil not sell them, can't sell, won't sell them, they're coming with me!! Got to have something to

ride in the afterlife. O yeah and the N/T ;)

stone take the trip is my favorite bike movie ,I owned/wrecked a couple of zeds and I still have a soft spot for them .

fastest indian was cool ,ghost rider was good ,I used to read the comic when i was a kid .Theres another movie called shampoo with warren beatty ,he rides around on a trumpy and roots heaps of sheilas .

TRON ,i loved those bikes that just manifest them selves ,me and my brothers chucked frizbee's at each other for weeks after that movie .

Also the scene in blazing saddles where two mexican fellas turn up on horses with ape hangers ...."badges! we dont need no stinking badges!!! hahahahahaha" classic.

and then theres this scene from harley davidson and the marlboro man

Anyone seen 'I Superbike'? Not so much a movie but a doco, sounds shidot.

Feature film for release Spring 2011 following four superbike riders through their dramatic British Superbike Season. They are the new GLADIATORS, battling at 200MPH, riding through torturous conditions and risking life and limb at every race meeting. Only one can be the true champion. The film follows the great British hope, Tommy Hill, a fearless racer who cheated death at 14 years old. It tracks James Ellison, the northern heartthrob who came second in 2009, and HAS to win to save his career. Also Gary Mason, an ex privateer now racing on a factory Kawasaki bike who has everything to prove. And finally black leather clad Josh ‘Bad Boy’ Brookes, the Australian out to steal the crown from the British hopefuls. Film score by David Vanian of the Damned, music by Phil Collen of Def Leppard and Manraze. Directed by Mark Sloper.

Some good posts in this thread!

I have two weeks leave coming up, and inbetween picking up my new Street Bob, and the inevitable crappy Sydney weather, I am going to find a few of the ones you guys have shared.

    Cheers.

On any Sunday. I remember watching it on TV back  in the 70's and then going for a ride (trail bike back then) and I think everybody else in the town must have seen the film and was out riding.
