My new toolbox

    Hi all.

I've been carrying my basic toolkit around on my 07RKC since I bought it nearly 2 years ago. Because HDs don't have the useful nooks and crannies that Jap bikes have, I have to put it in the saddlebags, which takes up a lot of room. Not any more...

I noticed a spare space under the packrack, and made my own toolbox:

It goes from one side to the other, and doesn't interfere with the saddlebag lids

And the end opens like this:

What's it made from?? A piece of 100x50 plastic downpipe 280 long with leather stuck to the outside, and thin rubber padding stuck to the inside, so the tools don't rattle. The lid is the gutter outlet with the end blanked off. It sits on the chrome rails, is bolted to the number plate bracket and doesn't even touch the mudguard.

    I'm excited (doesn't take much).
