hi all,i have a '86 883/1200 she was running fine but has just developed a major issue with misfire? at low rpm.Fine when ya gunning her just problem when ya coasting and low revs,so i cleaned out carby (checked for obstructions in both jets)checked for vac leaks,checked all electrical connections and plugs,not sure what to check next?any ideas?mitch.

have you changed the plugs and leads? were these a points model?

mine does same thing only thing i have not done is the plug leads

new 'screamin eagle' leads and 'hd' plugs not sure about 'points model'?gonna try swapping coil and ignition module over for old one's that were working!hopefully that may be the problem otherwise i'm stumped?!

yeah, if you have an ignition module then its either been converted to electronic or it came std with electronic. i reckon your on the right track. what about the enricher.....make sure that is pushed all the way back. mine will give a backfire only when its cold, and i found that it only likes 95ron fuel....just reminds me your not running vmax fuel are you. daughters quad ran really crap with this high quallity fuel...changed it over and was fine.

well after some stuffing around it seems to be the ignition module and a loose connection!

thanks for your input 'als1200' i didn't even think of the higher octane fuel being a problem(just beeen using premo from mobil)
