Cam chain tensioners - 88 vs 96 ?

My '05 TC88b is just about to tick over 50,000km's and I am gonna sus the cam chain tensioners. A mate has a set of tensioners from an '07 96b which were swapped for gear driven cams from brand new. In the event that my tensioners need replacing, are these parts interchangeable ? Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers

Filthy, if the 07 tentioners your m8 has are hydralic, they don't directly interchange. but been told HD have a kit to allow late model hydralic tentioners to fit early model. but i think the kit would include tentioners. someone else might know more.

Bugger ! Thanks Krash. I will have to do a bit of research. Might end up cheaper in the long run to go gear driven cams instead.

In the interests of laziness ( ) - anyone recommend a gear driven cam for a stock tc88 with HSR42 and upsewpt fishies (ie - not a "performance" exhaust) ? Mainly highway use so probably looking for mid range to top end performance.

    Thanks in advance.

You could always save money and just replace the stock tensioners.
I would look at Andrews TW26 for a Cam replacement for a stock motor , and change the inner Cam bearings.

Ms Issues bike runs S&S 585 cams,HSR42,Daytona TwinTec TC88 ignition & Fuelling oil pump.

Has stock headers & screaming eagle slip on mufflers.

Nice motor with heaps of go.
