Hi,Hear about this Chinees ebay type site here and had a good look. Some horror stories particularly before 2009. However, I just took a punt and ordered a Harley jacket from DHGate and thought I would let you know the results.
I ordered a Harley Road Warrior jaket from form the DHgate chineese wholesale website through a seller called Sell_online, on the 9 June 2011.
It was my first purchase from DHgate so I was a little nervous to say the least. I did a bit of homework and checked the feedback etc and came up with this seller. The chat function is really good and lets you chat direct to the seller. I asked loads of questions about authenticity, how good a copy, sizes etc and he answered them all honestly. Of course he could have said anything, I wouldnt have been able to prove any of it. But he was upfront that it was a copy and was very helpfull.
I received the jacket today and Im very pleased. The jacket is very good quality. It is hard to see any difference between it and the genuine item that I tried on in a Melbourne dealer. The size matched the one i tried on as well (large).
The leather is soft and it has all the vents and pockets and labels that the original had, including the waterproof mobile phone pocket. It even has the reflective panels in the writing as per the real item.
The zips seem ok with the exception of the two way vent zips on the cuffs. These are a little stiff in the one direction, but the cuff does up easy and the others have improved with a little candle wax. Only time will tell how they last.
The hooded waist coat has the harley logo and is fine, if a little short to be worn on its own ( i only intend to wear it with the jacket anyway).
The whole experience was easy and I will use this seller again. I will now probably buy from others on the site as well (with a few checks of course).
The jacket cost me a whopping $206 delivered to Australia. The same jacket retails for $650 plus in Aus and $450 plus postage from the US.
I will say that EMS postal service is very slow at updating its tracking so be patient. Try the Auspost check (it registers EMS numbers). EMS had the jacket outward bound to end user when Auspost had it on-board with delivery driver.
I am happy with this jacket. It was a third of the price and alowed me to buy a jacket that I wouldnt have been able to get otherwise.
Not saying you should buy, Just saying I did and im happy.

And, this seller had they at more than $100 cheaper than others on DHGate.......Go figure. Bargain
Is the sizing the same as the original Harley Jackets or are they a smaller make?
My experience was the same as Taffs. Excellent product and service. Only took a week. Sizing was spot on also. I was anxious about the size but the fit is perfect. pete.

Got my jacket yesterday from sell online of DHgate, little slower delivery than others are reporting, 12 days but who gives a fuck it arrived.
Im as stocked with mine as everyone else and as per the comment about body armour, yeah it didnt come with the armour but it does have the pockets inside the jacket to add it if thats what you want to do.
I just ordered one too after seeing this thread. lol
Everyone will be wearing the same jacket soon.
While i dont want to see HD go under, i do hope the shit they have pulled lately does bite them in the arse just to let them know they cant control the consumer!
looks like someone from Milwaukee has been angry with all this trade going on and, surprise surprise, punching in 'Harley' suddenly has no more matches on the site.
